365AstroBits 3D Printed Filter Holder and Lens Shade Assembly for Seestar S50

Our latest invention (curtesy of Steve Goddard) is this filter holder that has been tested with various Optolong, Antlia, Castell, Baader and Astronomik filters.

The middle part serves as a locking ring to hold the filter in place and then push on the top part that serves as a lens shade. It is also compatible with our Bahtinov mask and lens cap as well.

Note that we tested it with the Seestar and if the Auto Closure function is activated and the Seestar closes whilst this filter holder is on, it will simply fall out before it completely closes, so most likely you won’t damage your Seestar if you leave it on, however we’d still recommend to disable that function in the Settings in the Seestar application. We won’t take any responsibility if you damage your filter or the Seestar by using this accessory.  (Never-the-less, we belive that this might be the safest filter holder on the market and at the moment the only one that combines the function of a filter holdr and lens shade.
